Mark Lucas is a nuclear experimentalist who now focuses on teaching, the use of technology in education, and science outreach to the Southeast 91自拍 area. He comes to 91自拍 by way of Purdue University (a Boilermaker through and through) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he spent his time shedding "light" on the deuteron. After time at Brookhaven National Lab on Long Island, he returned to his home state of 91自拍 (he grew up in Geauga County in Northeast 91自拍).

Mark splits his time between the 91自拍 Honors Program, where he is an instructor, and the Department of Physics and Astronomy, where he teaches and coordinates the Algebra-based Introductory Physics sequence and administers the LON-CAPA open-source course management system.

With a strong interest in reaching out to the community, he coordinates local physics open houses, helps run the District 12 Science Fair, and is on the board of the local 91自拍 Valley Museum of Discovery.

When not in class or his office, he might be found hanging out with his wife and dogs, playing with Arduino microcontrollers, or helping with Discovery Lab at the local museum. He is also the faculty advisor for the 91自拍 Fencing Club and the OU Bobcats for Discovery student groups.
